Eligible Areas of Research: The focus of your research proposal must be in line with any of the following areas of research:

  • Major depressive and anxiety disorders:
    • Explore functionality issues (work, studies), more precisely related to productivity, absenteeism, and presenteeism
    • Research increasing knowledge on metabolic/pharmacokinetic issues of pharmacological treatment (e.g. drug-drug interactions, dysfunctions, etc.)
    • Further understand the cognitive benefits of pharmacotherapy
    • Research increasing the knowledge on brain imaging and biomarkers
    • Exploring the special population needs in pharmacological treatment (e.g. severe depression, depression with co-morbid anxiety, etc.)
    • Research relating to knowledge translation to primary care

About funding: This award (grant) is available as a grant for research involving and conducted in the mood and anxiety disorder program of the IUSMM. An applicant from IUSMM can collaborate with researchers from affiliated sites (Hôpital Rivière-des-Prairies and Institut Philippe-Pinel de Montréal) for the submission of a research project. In addition, this award (grant) is up to $50,000. Award funds are intended to be operating grants and must contribute towards the direct costs of the research program or project for which the funds are granted. Please note that the budget must be inclusive of institutional overhead where applicable; this amount shall not exceed 20% of the grant application budget. Please note that applicants may not receive a salary, a stipend, or an honorarium from the Pfizer Psychiatry Research Award.
